Highway 65 closure extends north of Braham Oct. 1
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation will extend the current Highway 65 closure between Cambridge and Braham beginning Oct. 1, as crews continue construction north of Braham. While the main 10‑mile segment between Cambridge and Braham will remain closed until late fall 2026, the extended work area allows crews to begin replacing centerline culverts from Highway 107 north to Brunswick.
To accommodate this work, Highway 65 will fully close from Isanti County Road 30 in Cambridge to Kanabec County Road 45 (120th Avenue).
Detour: Brunswick to Cambridge
- Through traffic detour: Kanabec County Road 16, Isanti County Road 4, Isanti County Road 14, Isanti County Road 3 (Stanchfield), Isanti County Road 36, Isanti County Road 34 and Isanti County Road 30 (Cambridge) Detour map (PNG)

Local access will remain available for residents, businesses and emergency services within the closure.
Drivers should plan for reduced speeds, no shoulders and periodic one‑way, flagger‑controlled traffic throughout the work zone. Wide, heavy and long loads should avoid local detour roads and use posted truck routes.
When Highway 65 reopens next year, drivers in Isanti and Kanabec counties will see smoother lanes, better storm drainage, safer intersections and improved walking access in Grandy.
