WILLMAR, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation will open the Highway 19/College Drive reconstruction project by the end of the day Monday, Oct. 19.
Construction began in 2025 as a partnership between the City of Marshall and MnDOT.
The project included:

  • Reconstructing Highway 19/College Drive from Marlene Street through the intersection of Bruce Street.
  • Constructing a single-lane roundabout at the intersection of Highway 19, Country Club Drive and South Second Street.
  • Replacing sanitary sewer and water main utilities.
  • Adding an electric vehicle charging station.
  • Improving sidewalk accessibility.
  • Installing enhanced safety traffic control features.
  • Striping a bicycle lane from Marlene Street to just west of Fairgrounds Road.

R&G Construction was the contractor for this $25.7 million project.
Motorists may still encounter crews on-site finishing final touches on the project.  Please travel with care, slow down and give them space to work.
MnDOT would like to thank residents, businesses and the traveling public for their patience and commitment to safety during construction.
