Curb ramp improvements will begin on multiple highways north of Denver
Adams, Broomfield and Jefferson Counties — The Colorado Department of Transportation, in partnership with Jalisco International, will begin curb ramp improvements to multiple highways on Nov. 2. This work will take place on US Highway 287 just north of Broomfield (Mile Point 297 to MP 299) and on Colorado Highway 95 (MP 10 to MP 14) and CO 53 (MP 0 to MP 1.7) near Westminster.
Work includes reconstructing existing pedestrian curb ramps to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility standards at multiple intersections throughout the project corridor. Improvements include removal and replacement of curb ramps, sidewalks, curb and gutter, detectable warning panels, concrete and asphalt patching as required, pavement markings and erosion control. These upgrades will enhance safety and accessibility for pedestrians throughout the project corridor. Work is expected to be completed early 2027.
